    Eh...

Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 11:38 PM EST [General]

Alrighty, I'm not so sure why but my page is squished realllllly bad... I don't know if I did something, or if it just likes being skinny... lol.  Oh well.

Tonight we held a ritual for Imbolc.  It was a bit late due to weather conditions, illnesses, and peoples schedules, but we had one. :)  It went rather well I think.  Educational and fun... and the chili was gooood.  Everyone ate it up... just wish they would've ate it all, I had some left over at home!!

    Good times were had.

The triple moon "Blessed Be" filet pattern I'm working on seems to be turning out well.  I counted wrong when I made my initial chain, I ended up with two too many rows, after several hundred chains I wasn't about to pull it back out to shorten the original!!  I'll adjust my math next time!

I've been working on my webiste, but I have to wait until I go back down south to work on it more.  My dad wanted to use the software to see if he wants to buy a copy for himself.  He was suppose to bring it back to me Sunday, but forgot it.  Oh well, I'll get it this weekend.

I've also been working on my wooden journals, beads & jewelry designing.  Been a busy bee around here!

I'm nearly done working the Triple Goddess pattern, as soon as I finish it I will post a picture of it.  Speaking of pictures..... if anyone can tell me why I can't change my profile picture I'd be ablidged.  I've tried several times, but it doesn't change, even though it says it does... odd.  Probably a bug they're working on.  :)

Ok, I'm headed off now, just thought I'd letcha know I'm still kicking!! LOL

I've got a few filet crochet patterns that I've been working on, I've got to finish crocheting them before posting them, just to make sure they look right. :)  They're kinda big so it takes awhile, and I'm not exactly "great" with crochet thread.  (I do better with yarn)  I tried talking my sister into working the patterns for me because she's excellent at working with the thread, but unfortunately her job schedule would make it a slower process than what I'm doing!

Not much to post today... check out the handcrafted group for a bath salts recipe to share with your lovey on valentines day!! :D

As it will probably be after Thursday before I'm online again, I will say adios till then!!

    Many blessings!

Oh the weather outside... & other things

Tuesday, February 6, 2007, 05:10 PM EST [General]

The weather is frightful... It's snowing and 15.6 degrees... my kids havne't had school for two days due to the frigid cold temps.

I still remain diligent working on patterns.  I've got to work the bugs out of some I've been working on... they're just not quite right.  I keep getting puckers and wrong counts... before I present them to you all, I want them to be workable by others.

I've also been doing a little doodling on some pictures for a Wiccan coloring book with a story line.  Hopefully when it's finished it will be a good tool to help educate our children about Wiccan beliefs.  I realize there's an extremely broad spectrum, but I'm trying to find things that are generally accepted by most or all of us.  My desire is to make this a free tool available to all who want it.  I'm hoping to put together a "multi-trad" series, so that they can learn about other traditions as well.  If anyone would like to be part of this please shoot me off an email or message. :)

I'd like to start a childrens book series.  I've got a few ideas and some basic story lines laid out.  I'll keep you up to date on how this project is working out.

Soon I will be launching a website.  It will have the coloring book(s), basic information, items available for purchase, free patterns for crafts & crochet as well as purchasable ones... My sister & I are working together on the crafting aspect of this project.

More updates about these things will be soon, but in the meantime if you desire to have a part in anything mentioned here let me know. :)

    Hope y'all stay warm

    Snowin & Blowin

Sunday, February 4, 2007, 12:09 AM EST [General]

Well... we were suppose to head south yesterday but the weather decided otherwise.  My hubby & I were watching the news in the afternoon and Chillicothe was on the news.  There was about 2 inches of snow put down in a small amount of time atop ice.  Probably doesn't sound bad to most people, but if you know the area it's not good.

Anyway, we were going to go to Athens county but they were at a level one snow emergency and school was being dismissed 2 hours early.  We called my grandparents to see how bad it was, they said the roads were "crappy" (not the word used) but the snow seemed to be easing up.  We called a couple hours later and the emergency had been raised to a level 2.  We decided not to go, so we stayed home... which isn't much warmer!!  We got the frigid air, they got the snow.  Oh well.

I decided to warm myself up by crocheting a springy bunny eared hat for newborns.  I have a yellow one finished and am working on a pink one.

     Here's to warmer thoughts!!

I think it turned out well.  I've also been working on barefoot sandals, hair scrunchies, an afghan, bookmarks, wooden items, soaps, lotions, candles and some other little odds n' ends most of which are Pagan oriented.  Gotta get ready for the craft show coming up in March!!

    Dial up... who loves it?

Thursday, February 1, 2007, 10:36 PM EST [General]

What I wouldn't give for DSL or something faster...  Downloading... It took the better part of 15 hours but I did it sorta.

I have been trying to find freeware to create my own clipart and animations. I found one that would have been awesome, but my internet company apparently doesn't like one to remain online over 10 hours solid... hehehe... well... I got 1/2 the program downloaded and thought I could restart the download from where it cut off...

    nope.

I had to redownload the same stuff I had before except this time I only got 3 of the 12 hours... talk about a pain huh?

I gave up on the awesome program that would have been Wonderful and decided to try another... It doesn't have much in the line of tools, but it's better than MS Paint and I can make animations with it. If you take a peek in the photos section you'll see my very first animation using this program.

My husband & I are looking into one of those doodle pad things with the stylus pen so I can draw freehand instead of manipulating the preformed shapes, which doesn't allow much in the detail end of things. (I'm horrible at drawing a line with a rollerball mouse!!)

Other than that I'm headed south Friday evening... going to visit family and get directions to a doctors office in Cincinatti.

Everyone take care & Blessings till later!!
    Laurel :)
